This web site also provides access to the Edinburgh (Scotland) Gazette and the Belfast (Ireland) Gazette, the other two official newspapers of record for the United Kingdom. Each gazette includes government notices, regulations, etc. (similar to the U.S. government's Federal Register) and notices of legal proceedings such as bankruptcies. Of special interest to students is the historical archive for each Gazette which includes issues of the Gazette and its Supplements published during World War I and World War II or relating to those wars. The archive is fully searchable; Adobe Reader is required for viewing the issues which are in PDF format. Best viewed with Internet Explorer v.5 or higher.
